St. Ann’s College of Nursing

The society of CSSA was founded by Smt. Tatipatri Gnanamma in Chennai and later its branch was established at Phirangipuram in Guntur district , Andhra Pradesh in 1882 . It was bifurcated from its main organization and became separate independent society. At present with its mother house in Hyderabad, it renders services in four major areas of Education, Medical, Evangelization and Social Apostolates.

Mission

The Institution is intended primarily for training and preparing of students for the role of excellent future leaders loyal to the highest ideals of health profession. The institution seeks to make a qualitative contribution to health care, medical education and research through the training of nursing personnel who are dedicated to the healing ministry.

Vision

The Management and staff of St.Ann’s College of Nursing believe that candidates undergoing B.Sc. Nursing course in this institution should be individually followed and developed into mature, responsible persons, with high moral standards in private life and professionally capable of teaching, giving efficient, qualitative comprehensive Nursing care upholding the standards of Nursing.

About College

St. Ann’s College of Nursing is one of the many establishments of the Congregation of Sisters of St. Anne, Phirangipuram, Guntur Province with its head office at Provincialate Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. St. Ann’s College of Nursing motto is “Learn to Serve” and it’s strongly believes in fostering a positive organizational climate, maintaining a work culture with strong team functioning which is conducive for both teaching and learning. This has enhanced the maintenance of quality education that in turn has produced efficient nurses.

Foundress

Thatipatri Gnanamma (1822 – 1874) was a Roman Catholic lay woman who founded the congregation of Sisters of St. Anne of Madras and Sisters of St. Anne Phirangipuram. She was declared Servant of God by the Holy See on 21 January 2014.
